Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have financing options available?

Our School has one of the most competitive and affordable tuitions of all massage schools in Colorado. We have low deposit requirements and only accept tuitions via a payment plan.

What if I know I am going to miss class?

Students can miss up to 20% of classes without academic penalty. To make-up the lecture-style classes, the student will be able to access the power points with instructor voice-over via our e-Learning website. That student will have additional assignments to complete in order to show completion and comprehension of the materials missed in-class. The student is also encouraged to connect with a fellow student to access lecture notes. To make-up hands-on massage classes, the student will have options to take that class again when it's offered at a later time depending on the space & availability in that class. That student will also need to work with another student and/or watch the DVD for that class to be caught up and on track. Ultimately, the student needs to be proactive, and if classes will be missed, to work on getting any and all missed information.

*Please take note that it may be necessary to make up missed information privately with an instructor at a charge of $65 per hour if the student cannot work with any of the above options. Visit our Student page for additional information

Do you offer job placement?

Denver Integrative Massage School, Inc offers employment assistance to graduates, consisting of job lead referrals and job skills development. Hillary O. Hilliard, the owner of the school, has owned and operated her own massage therapy business, Textured Motion, Inc, for many years, and she has the business acumen and skill set to help each graduate understand and learn basic business skills that will especially help those seeking to have their own private practice. The graduate will learn the options for Medical Insurance Billing, Web Marketing and Advertising, as well business strategy to attaining and retaining clientele. In addition to the self-employment options, DIMS will give you assistance in your job search at local spas, clinics, and wellness centers, if you prefer to go that route. We offer many opportunities for our graduates to market themselves at sport's, yoga, and community events! We make no guarantee, expressed or implied, of future employment. Current law prohibits any school from guaranteeing job placement as an inducement to enroll students.

Can I transfer credits from a previous school?

Credits from another institution will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Denver Integrative Massage School, Inc does not guarantee transferability of our credits to another institution unless there is a written agreement with another institution.

How does this school differ from the other schools in the Denver area?

DIMS has the most competitive tuition rates in the state. We offer ala carte style, flexible scheduling. There is a dual-modality focus incorporating Eastern and Western techniques. Thai Yoga Massage is fast becoming one of the most desired modalities of massage in North America, especially given the popularity of Yoga, and DIMS offers over 150 hours of training in Thai Yoga Massage! Our class size is small and offers more one-on-one instruction. We have a "boutique-style" massage school; we have a fun and funky urban location that has a Yoga studio feel that is inviting, warm, and easily accessible. We have a combination of e-Learning and In-class learning for the busy, working student. Students have flexibility to take more classes via e-Learning that is more accessible for the working adult. In addition, DIMS also offers a 6-week Massage Immersion course for students to go through the program in a more accelerated fashion, which is helpful for students that live outside of the Denver-metro area.

Do you offer assistance with finishing practicum hours?

Our Denver Massage School has a different approach than other massage schools to the Practicum/Clinic hours. We have a community clinic setting that allows students to work alongside peers and receive guidance from licensed therapists/instructors. Instead of working on other students and clients who don't know the correct feedback to give, the student can also earn up to 25% of hours outside of the clinic. For students in the e-Learning module and the 6-week Massage Immersion, those students have at the option to complete 100% of the practicum hours outside of clinic with an LMT. When working with an LMT mentor, the student will work primarily with instructors and past graduates in a one-on-one mentorship/internship program, whereby the student will give to the mentor and receive instant feedback on technique, rhythm, therapies, and flow. The mentor will provide both verbal and written feedback via an evaluation form. These practicum hours will need to be completed and all necessary documentation submitted before the certificate can be awarded. The student will also learn through this mentorship program how to work with different case studies with different issues and injuries and will be guided on how to begin practicing and logging these practicum and case study hours. There will be specific session forms the student will need to use for documentation--as well as intake and follow-up forms for the student's sessions.
